New Years Week

Because I work at a school, I get this whole week off! I really miss my kids, but am excited to have some time that I can devote to my artwork.

I made this piece yesterday, and tried a new technique that I really enjoyed! You cant tell from this picture, but I coated the piece in three layers of Polycrylic Finish (varnish).

I love the smooth finish result, how it brightened the colors, and the fact that the work is now sealed and protected. And well, it just looks nice!

Im starting a new series of work for my show in May, and plan on coating each piece with this exciting stuff!
