Projects Around the House

I recently moved into a beautiful new place. My first! The moment I walked in, I loved it! So now, little by little my roommate and I are working on decorating. Its a little bit of a challenge because our tastes are so different. She likes the modern clean lines -black and white look- while I gravitate more towards a vintage colorful eclectic style.

In our living room above the couch we are going to create and hang some fabric wall panels. Below is an example to give the general idea of the project that my friend found online.

These are some of the fabrics I have chosen so far. Im hoping to do 10 to 14 different panels all different fabrics and sizes. Here is my kitty Shelby, displaying the type of frames I will use to stretch the fabrics over.And here is her new little buddy, Owen. I adopted him today. Shelby gets so lonely during the day while I am at work, and every kitty needs a friend.I also redid this old lamp my mom gave me. It was very simple to transform.I painted red over the gold and added this neat lamp shade from World Market (one of my favorite home-deco stores).
