Sometimes I Feel Like An Old Lady

Last night i went to babysit for my favorite little girl. Her parents were going to the U2 concert here in Nashville and needed a sitter, and as always I was happy to do it. They live in the Hillsboro Village area, which I always enjoy, because Emma and I love to go for walks- and its the perfect part of town to do that!

Anyway, Emma and I had a great night together- playing, laughing, and doing each other's hair. But I started to get very frustrated at the neighbors who were obviously throwing some loud wild party. I kept thinking- this does not seem like the neighborhood for such a party! I mean, it was LOUD. I was worried that Emma would not be able to sleep, and kept hoping that one of the neighbors would call the cops on them! I had a terrible headache, and came close to calling the cops myself! The night went on and so did the party- it only seemed to get louder and louder. I was aggravated.

When Emma's parents came home I informed them of their incredibly noisy and rude neighbors and tried to hold back just how annoyed it had made me, when Emma's mother made the comment, oh yea- that was U2.

I thought, 'what??' She informed me that the concert was at Vanderbilt, which is about a 10 minute walk from their house! For some reason I had the idea that they were performing at Bridgestone, but nope- they were in the neighborhood!

If I had known that the loud booming I was hearing all night was in fact the musical legends of U2... well, my night would have been very different! I felt like such an old lady for complaining about the loud neighbors.

U2- you can be as loud as you want from now on. (not that you need my permission)

Its all about perspective, I guess. Never asume anything.
